🥬Functional Nutrition Healing Introduction🥬
Functional Nutrition healing methods are grounded upon approaching the roots to the body’s foundation in a personalized manner. The 3 roots that serve as the foundation for an organism's life and where all dysfunctions are born, Genes, Inflammation and Digestion. It's this very approach that allows for an individual to achieve their desired health outcomes. Many methodologies in today's world are based upon diagnostics and only treating symptoms. Symptoms are what stem from the dysfunction. To properly address symptoms, is to address these core concepts for true resolution. Functional Nutrition does not subscribe to any dietary theory (keto, vegan, carnivore etc.), its main purpose is to allow for the most possible diversity of nutrients that the specific individual can tolerate. It may require use of a specific diet for a short duration to heal and repair as necessary. Functional nutrition also utilizes medicinal herbs and supplements if necessary for healing and restoration purposes.
Digestion-
Proper digestion allows for an organism to consume food and turn it into its required form for the body to use. Human bodies are very complex and require many different nutrients for building cells, tissue, hormones and secretions.
The inability of an organism to utilize the nutrients that are coming into the body through digestion, will lead to deficiency which will lead to degeneration, disease and lack of function.
Even when someone is eating enough of a certain nutrient they may still be deficient due to the digestive system's inability to assimilate the nutrient.
When addressing digestive health there are mechanical, chemical, structural and microbial factors to think about. And these can each be affected by genes and inflammation.
Inflammation-
Chronic inflammation is a culprit for most all conditions, symptoms and diseases, from autoimmune to heart disease. This kind of inflammation is the kind that does not have a particular injury it is tending to and persists constantly, making the immune system weak and more vulnerable to real pathogens. Chronic inflammation damages our own tissue. Chronic inflammation is a culprit factor in turning on bad or disease expressing genes on. Chronic inflammation can be caused by the digestive system's lack of function as well. There are major external factors that cause inflammation to occur in most people and there are things that can be inflammatory specifically to a certain individual.
To address the immune system is to Clear the inflammatory agent/ pathogen, Calm the immune system, Enhance the immune system's function and modulate the immune response.
Genes-
Genes are a reminder that everyone is bio-individual and needs to be treated as such, an individual. Not all recommendations will work for everyone. Addressing genetic health through epigenetics, which is what bathes the genes, allowing them to turn off negative expressions and express the good genes.
Epigenetics are Food, Movement, Mindset, and Environment.
